Downing Reports: Brian M Downing and the world at war
Pakistan steadily increasing nuclear arsenal
Pakistan is said to be making twenty nuclear weapons a year, playing it on track to be the third largest nuclear power, behind the US and Russia. The concern with Pakistan is that its generals are mercurial figures who have failed in war and seek to maintain legitimacy by aggressiveness on the world stage. Further, there is the risk of on or more of these weapons falling into the hands of al Qaeda or ISIl or one of the other militant groups in the area, some of which have close ties to the Pakistani generals.
US declares Iran’s site to be unassociated with the nuclear program
Parchin, located about 75 miles from Tehran, is an IRGC base where research on warhead design is thought to be taking place. By declaring it unrelated to the nuclear program, the US is placing Parchin outside the strict IAEA inspection regime. This might be giving too much to Iran. By the way, there was a serious explosion at Parchin last fall. Mossad?
